Dharmast was born in 2019 out of a simple belief: that the food we grew up eating deserved a home in our new community. Owner Aziz Tulamar spent his childhood watching his mother grind spices on a stone slab, roast whole coriander in a heavy iron pan, and coax curries to perfection over slow flames.
When Aziz and his family settled in Antelope, they searched for that same taste of home — and could not find it. So they built it themselves. Every recipe on our menu comes from a Tulamar family notebook, tested in home kitchens for decades before it ever reached our restaurant.
We source whole spices from trusted importers, fresh produce from California growers, and halal-certified meats. No shortcuts. Ever.
Our sauces are simmered in-house. Our paneer is pressed daily. Our naan is stretched to order. Nothing arrives frozen or pre-made.
We pay our team a living wage, respect our vendors, and treat every guest — first-time or regular — like family.
Our head chef leads a team of five cooks trained across India — from the tandoor pits of Punjab to the coastal kitchens of Kerala. Together they bring more than 60 years of combined experience to every service.
We hold weekly recipe reviews to make sure every dal tastes the same on Monday night as it does on Saturday afternoon. Consistency is a discipline, and it is how we honor our guests' trust.
