Fresh, Whole Spices
Every masala is ground in-house daily. No shortcuts, no pre-mixes — only the aromatic depth of freshly toasted cumin, cardamom, cloves and coriander.

From hand-pounded masalas to slow-simmered curries and clay-oven naan, Dharmast brings you the flavors of India — crafted with care, served with heart.
We honor centuries-old recipes passed down through generations while embracing modern techniques, sustainable sourcing, and Californian freshness.
Every masala is ground in-house daily. No shortcuts, no pre-mixes — only the aromatic depth of freshly toasted cumin, cardamom, cloves and coriander.
Our clay tandoor blazes at 900°F, giving our naan its signature blister and our kebabs their unmistakable smoky char.
Owned by the Tulamar family and staffed by chefs who treat every guest like a visitor to their own home. That is our dharma.

Dharmast — meaning "steadfast in righteousness" — began as a family dream to share the true flavors of India with our Sacramento neighbors. Owner Aziz Tulamar grew up in a household where meals were sacred: turmeric was ground on a stone slab, ginger was pressed by hand, and every guest was welcomed with a warm cup of chai.
Today, our kitchen honors those roots. Every curry simmers slowly. Every naan is stretched to order. Every recipe carries the memory of the women and men who taught us how to cook — and how to care.
Whether it's date night, a family celebration or a quiet solo dinner, we save the best seat in the house for you.
Book a Table"Best Indian food in the Sacramento area, hands down. The butter chicken is unreal and the naan comes out puffy and hot. We drive 30 minutes just for this place."
"Warm service, authentic flavors, and a menu that clearly respects the traditions. Their biryani took me straight back to my grandmother's kitchen in Hyderabad."
"Vegetarian options here are outstanding — the paneer tikka masala is one of the best dishes I've had all year. Cozy space, kind staff, generous portions."
